House Rules Nova Rock Festival

General

The house rules (https://www.novarock.at/faq/allgemeines/), safety, and general guidelines of the organizer apply without exception and are binding for all individuals present on the premises. These regulations may be further specified or adapted by the organizer’s security personnel and must be strictly adhered to. Additional binding information will be provided on our website (www.novarock.at). We reserve the right to implement stricter measures than those prescribed by the government.

By purchasing a ticket and/or entering the stage area, you agree to abide by and accept the house rules. These rules apply to all individuals present on the premises, and compliance is mandatory. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the premises. The organizer exercises their right of ownership over the entire venue (including the camping area, caravan area, and parking lot) and will enforce it without restriction in the event of violations. This includes revocation of tickets, expulsion from the premises, forfeiture of refund claims, and cost liabilities for those expelled.

Only individuals authorized by the organizer or those with a valid ticket are allowed access to the premises. Tickets may be confiscated without compensation in cases of misuse or unauthorized transfer. Additional costs may be incurred on-site (e.g., food and beverages, cup deposits, etc.).

Upon entering the premises, everyone is obligated to present their ticket or other proof of authorization to the security service and/or the police without prompting and for inspection. Tickets are non-transferable after entry. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in ticket confiscation. Tickets will be validated upon entry, and visitors will be provided with a wristband. Failure to present the undamaged wristband and validated ticket upon re-entry will result in denial of access. The Burgenland Youth Protection Act applies at all times!

Instructions from the organizer, security personnel, police, and other regulatory authorities must be promptly followed. Individuals unable to demonstrate their authorization to be present at the event venue will be expelled from the premises.

The security service and law enforcement personnel are authorized to conduct searches of clothing and carried items, as well as to use technical means, to clarify situations, and confiscate prohibited items. Failure to consent to inspections may result in denial of entry or expulsion from the premises.

Due to the ongoing sensitive situation, enhanced security checks will be implemented at this year’s Nova Rock Festival. Metal detectors will be used at the entrance gates to the main area (Blue & Red Stage). Personnel has been increased at all critical control points, but we ask for understanding that longer waiting times may occur. We explicitly emphasize the prohibition of drones throughout the entire venue. Further prohibited items are listed in the house rules.

At open-air events, unexpected measures may be necessary due to weather conditions (e.g., interruptions to performances, area evacuations, tent evacuations, etc.). These measures will be announced via loudspeaker announcements, by security personnel, possibly online as well. Compliance with the security service’s instructions is mandatory in such cases! In the event of lightning danger, visitors are advised to seek refuge in their cars and provide any available space to visitors without cars (by activating hazard lights)! Gas cartridges, gas cylinders, various flammable liquids, as well as drones and other airborne objects, are strictly prohibited throughout the entire venue (parking lot, camping area, caravan area, main area, etc.).

Interruption / (Partial) Cancellation:

For safety reasons (e.g., weather-related or due to official orders), it may be necessary for us to partially or fully evacuate and seal off the premises temporarily or completely, without entitling attendees to any form of ticket price refund. Our instructions or those of the security service must be promptly and fully complied with to avert danger to life or limb.

The event will generally take place regardless of weather conditions. However, we reserve the right to interrupt or cancel the event at any time due to weather-related risks or upon official orders. The same applies to interruptions and/or (partial) cancellations due to force majeure (e.g., weather-related or upon official orders) or if one or more artists/groups cancel or if the venue is only partially usable. We do not accept claims for the cancellation of individual artists/groups, and such claims are expressly excluded. The same applies to changes in lineup, program, and schedule, which are at our discretion and do not entitle to any form of refund. Our liability as the organizer is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

As the Nova Rock venue is located in close proximity to the Hungarian border, we strongly advise against entering Hungarian territory. Entry into Hungarian territory is only permitted with a valid passport or identity card. Upon entering Hungarian territory, individuals are immediately subject to Hungarian law.

The brands of the event and those of the partners advertising within the framework of collaborations are protected. The use of these marks for personal promotional purposes (e.g., by influencers, bloggers, etc.) is legally prohibited under trademark and competition law, and violations could even be penalized with criminal means; in any case, there are also enforceable claims for injunction or enrichment. The organizer is indeed interested in further partnerships and offers to discuss them – but this should be done before any potential infringement of its rights or the rights of its cooperation partners. On-site, the organizer will enforce its rights against unauthorized use of festival brands also with the help of house rules.

These camping site regulations apply to the camping and caravan site, as well as all associated areas (Green Camping, Tent Hotel, Glamping, Silent & Clean Caravan) at the Nova Rock Festival. By entering the camping and caravan area, the visitor agrees to the search of carried items (bags and the like) if necessary. Mobile power generators / generators:

  • When setting up and operating mobile power generators / generators, it must be ensured that the generators are protected from external influences such as foreign objects, water, or moisture, either through the design of potential weather protection or the location of installation, so as not to compromise the safety of the generator.
  • The installation site must be chosen or prepared so that the generator can be securely installed and operated as intended, and the protection level meets the requirements arising from the installation site.
  • The installation must ensure that components subject to temperature stress (including exhaust ducts) are sufficiently spaced from other materials so that they cannot ignite considering the maximum temperatures that may occur.
  • Generators with internal combustion engines must be installed outdoors and may only be refueled when stationary and cooled down (unless the operating instructions provide for external refueling).
  • Operation must be carried out according to the operating instructions, and the operating instructions for the respective generator must be available at the deployment site.
  • Smoking and handling open flames and fire are strictly prohibited within a radius of at least 3.0m around the installation site of the generator.
  • A portable fire extinguisher must be provided in the vicinity of the generator. The fire extinguisher must comply with ÖNORM EN 3.
  • On the premises (camping and caravan), a maximum of 25 liters of spare operating materials for the generators may be kept in shatterproof and media-resistant containers per generator.
  • The storage of water-polluting substances (fuels for generators) at the caravans is exempt from authorization if the storage of water-polluting substances (fuels for generators) and the filling of generators are carried out considering a 2-barrier safety system: the generator and the fuel container (max. 25 l) must be placed in a non-flammable, media-resistant, and liquid-tight tub (with a minimum capacity of 30 l) to prevent environmental damage caused by spilled substances.
  • Operation must comply with the aforementioned safety measures to avoid groundwater pollution.

Users of the caravan site are further prohibited from carrying gas cartridges, gas cylinders, and fuels (gasoline, diesel, oils) other than the quantities contained in the vehicle tanks at the caravan site – exceptions are listed under “Mobile Power Generators / Generators.” Likewise, carrying unnecessary fire hazards (such as furniture) is prohibited. It is expressly and strictly forbidden to reserve camping or caravan areas for other visitors or to demarcate areas that are not immediately needed as individual camping pitches.
