Bilmuri’s music is full of surprises. The Columbus, OH singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer a.k.a. Johnny Franck stirs up the musical equivalent of a protein shake, blending a hearty helping of alternative rock, the right amount of metal, a dash of country twang, and whatever-else-is-in-the fridge at high speed. Rising up out of the heartland with a sound as Americanly free as a roaring lawnmower on a Saturday morning, this unpredictability has endeared him to a fervent fanbase. Since the age of 14, Johnny has always loved making music. During high school, he co-founded metalcore favorites ATTACK ATTACK! In 2010, Johnny made the choice to amicably split from the group. Turning his mom’s basement into a studio, he produced and recorded at least 50 albums, working with everyone from SycAmour to YouTubers such as Jared Dines and Jared Alonge. At the top of 2016, he introduced Bilmuri with the independent debut EP, Jaguar Shark followed by a dozen projects, including Eggy Pocket [2020] and Goblin Hours [2022]. Along the way, he generated tens of millions of streams fueled by “ABSOLUTELYCRANKINMYF’INHOG” [feat. brody] and “FLOURIDEINTHEWATERHARDSELTZER” [feat. Dayseeker & Jon Mess]. Simultaneously, he collaborated with the likes of Dance Gavin Dance, Make Me Famous, and Jonathan Young. Rolling into 2024 strong, Babymetal tapped him for a massive gig at Saitama Super Arena in Japan, while Sleep Token recruited him as direct support for their European arena tour. Now, he serves up a sonic buffet meant to be devoured without shame.
