Social ticket

In cooperation with Volkshilfe, we are giving out 1,000 day tickets to people at risk of poverty in order to enable greater social participation. People at risk of poverty are more affected by inflation because they have to spend a much larger percentage of their income on housing and food. According to a recent Statistics Austria survey, 74 percent of people on low incomes state that they lack essentials. Anything above and beyond this becomes an unaffordable luxury.

THE INTENTION
„The fact that it has become impossible for many people to experience music at a festival, especially in times of inflation, has concerned me and motivated me to do something about it,“ says Ewald Tatar, organizer of Nova Rock, who wants to give 1,000 tickets to people at risk of poverty this year.
„Volkshilfe has a long traditionVienna Stadium two years ago. I am particularly pleased that this time the focus is on social participation, because we know how much people at risk of poverty cut themselves off in this area and often don’t even allow themselves to make wishes for themselves,“ adds Erich Fenninger, Director of Volkshilfe Österreich.

CAN I TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OFFER?

In order to receive one of the 1,000 free day tickets, you must be at risk of poverty as calculated by Statistics Austria in accordance with the EU definition. People are considered at risk of poverty if they have to live on less than 60% of the average income of the population as a whole. This income threshold is called the at-risk-of-poverty threshold. In Austria, it currently stands at 1,392 euros per month for a one-person household. This figure increases by EUR 696 for each additional adult in the household and by EUR 418 for each child under the age of 14.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE
